Patundas Trek in Photos: Best Hike in Pakistan?
Located deep in the Hunza region of Northern Pakistan lies one of the most beautiful 2-3 day hikes in the world. I can’t think of another place I have been to where such epic scenery lies just a few hours away from a major highway.
Patundas Top (also known as Patundas Meadow) is located at 4300 meters – sandwiched between two epic glaciers – the Passu Glacier and the Batura Glacier. 360-degree views of the Passu Cones, both glaciers, and towering 7000-meter peaks make the whole scene an incredible, other-worldly sight to behold.
Over the years, I have hiked to Patundas meadow eight times – which means I have crossed the Passu Glacier to get there at least 16 times. I have photographed the hike across the Passu Glacier to Patundas during pretty much every season.
Below are a few of my favorite shots from the Patundas Trek over the years.
